3) NFC East
The Dallas Cowboys are, suddenly, a juggernaut and they carry the day for the rising NFC East. Dallas looked crisp in holding serve at home against a game New York Giants team, and because New York looked just fine in the road loss, we are giving the Cowboys a bump while simultaneously keeping the Giants in perspective. The Cowboys may not be this good, but the offense is undeniably real, and with the way they are controlling the clock, Dallas may be favored in every game for the next month.
Even the lowly Washington Professional Football Team snagged a win behind Colt McCoy over the weekend, and with the Eagles on a bye week, there were no negative results for the NFC East. It remains to be seen if the Giants or potentially a rejuvenated Washington squad could challenge Dallas and Philly for a playoff spot, but as long as the bottom doesn’t fall out, the NFC East should remain the top half of our rankings.
