Tennessee Titans Sign TE Richard Gordon To Fill Open Roster Spot

After trading linebacker Akeem Ayers to the New England Patriots, the Tennessee Titans moved quickly to fill the open roster spot, signing TE Richard Gordon.
The Tennessee Titans didn’t waste a lot of time to fill an open spot on their 53-man roster Wednesday, signing tight end Richard Gordon.
According to the team’s official Twitter account, the team also added linebacker Nate Askew and wide receiver Derek Moye to its practice squad.

A roster spot opened up earlier Wednesday when the Titans traded linebacker Akeem Ayers to the New England Patriots for a future draft pick.

Gordon is a three-year NFL veteran who was a sixth-round pick by the
in 2011 out of
. He has been unsigned since he was released by the
at the end of the preseason. He also spent time with the
.
In three seasons, Gordon has four receptions for 14 yards and one touchdown.
Askew was an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this spring and was among the final cuts in the preseason. He had six tackles, an interception and two passes defensed this preseason for Tampa Bay.
Moye had two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown in 2013 with the Steelers after coming into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State in 2012.
He was cut at the end of the preseason and was signed to Pittsburgh’s practice squad. The Steelers waived him off the practice squad last week.
