It’s great news for a Chargers team that was already undermanned against Peyton Manning, with cornerback Brandon Flowers out for the contest.
Preventing a monster game from Manning will be difficult for San Diego regardless of Verrett’s presence, but there’s no doubt it helps.
There aren’t many surprises on the other side, but Broncos receiver Cody Latimer is active for the first time since Denver’s opener against the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos selected Latimer in the second round of this past year’s NFL Draft.
Although it was expected, three talented running backs — Montee Ball, Donald Brown and Ryan Mathews — are inactive for the contest.
Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m ET and will air on NFL Network and CBS.
Broncos inactives:
- RB Montee Ball
