Kyle Fuller And Martellus Bennett Limited In Return To Practice
By Clinton Cole
Kyle Fuller and Martellus Bennett returned to practice in a limited role on Thursday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots.
The Chicago Bears are 3-4 and are facing a must-win this Sunday on the road against one of the better teams in the NFL.
Coach Marc Trestman’s team was glad to have both Martellus Bennett and Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate Kyle Fuller back to practice on Thursday, albeit in a limited role.

Bennett has been out with a hamstring injury while Kyle Fuller suffered both a broken hand and a hip pointer in last Sunday’s 27-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Bennett is one of many targets for quarterback Jay Cutler and has caught 41 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns. Bennett and Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen lead the league with their 41 catches. Bennett’s four touchdowns are tied for fifth this season for tight ends as well.
This week, Bennett showed some praise for Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski:
As for Kyle Fuller, the Bears need all the help they can get on defense against Tom Brady, who has shredded the Bears in their three previous meetings.
Brady, a nine-time Pro Bowler, is 3-0 against the Bears and has thrown for 321 yards per game against Chicago. He has also completed 66.4% of his passes to go along with six touchdown passes.
Fuller has been arguably the Bears best defender this season even though he is in his rookie season. Number 23 has three interceptions and three forced fumbles to lead a mediocre Bears’ defense. During Marc Trestman’s time with the Bears, they have not lost a game when they had a positive turnover margin (8-0).
If Chicago has any chance this weekend, they need both Fuller and Bennett in the lineup and on the field against the Patriots who have had the Bears’ number in recent history.
