Percy Harvin will make his New York Jets debut this weekend, and Michael Vick seems pretty confident in his new teammate.

When the news broke that the Seattle Seahawks had traded Percy Harvin to the New York Jets for a conditional draft pick, many people around the NFL were shocked, including myself.

It finally came out the Harvin and the Seahawks didn’t see eye-to-eye, something that dated back to last season’s Super Bowl.

In a story written by Steve Serby, current Jets backup quarterback Michael Vick is certain that Harvin won’t be having similar issues in New York as a member of the Jets.

“He won’t be a monster here,” Vick told The Post. “He won’t be a monster here. I can assure all the fans of that … That won’t take place here.”

More from Minnesota Vikings

Seattle acquired Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings in March 2013 for several picks, including the Vikings’ first-round draft pick in 2013.

Harvin returned the second half opening kick of Super Bowl 48 for a touchdown for the Seahawks, but didn’t make many other contributions due to health issues.

According to Serby’s article, Jets starting quarterback Geno Smith also shared his thoughts of encouragement.

“I know it won’t be a problem with Percy being here while he’s here,” Smith said. “I guarantee Percy cleans his act up while he’s here. So we ain’t gonna have no problems … So Jets fans can relax and just enjoy what Percy’s gonna bring to the table.”

Calvin Pryor also thinks that Percy Harvin is cut from the same cloth as Tavon Austin, a player known for his speed and ability to stretch the field.

Rex Ryan’s football team is 1-6, so what do they have to lose?

Harvin has the ringing endorsement of both Vick and Geno Smith, so what could possibly go wrong?
