Everyone wants to be a video game, and for Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota doesn’t have to dream anymore. The people at FOX Sports took Mariota and created his own Super Mario themed game, and it is awesome.
So awesome in fact that there is a younger version of myself that wishes this game had actually exsisted. Who am I kidding, I would still play this game if it existed, even at 30.
They took all the classic Super Mario elements too and replaced them with football themed things. Instead of throwing fire balls, Super Mariota throws footballs. Instead of turtles pacing, they’re linebackers, we’re assuming.
Instead of that star that would make Super Mario go all bananas it is the Oregon logo. Personally, I think it would’ve been a lot cooler if it were a Heisman Trophy making him go into the invincible Heisman mode.
At the end of ever level, Super Mario he leaps and tries to grab onto the flag pole for bonus points. In Super Mariota he jumps over the goal posts.
Someone out there needs to make this an iPhone app, are the Flappy Bird creators available?
