Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson is a Pro Bowl player on one of the worst teams in the NFL. Naturally, his name is being kicked around ahead of the NFL trade deadline next week.

Vincent Jackson is a Pro Bowl player being paid gobs of money to play for a team that is going nowhere except the scrap heap. What this has led to is endless trade rumors about where the receiver could get shipped off to where he’d be of more help than he is in Tampa Bay.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport notes that the Buccaneers are still getting calls about Vincent Jackson and that a trade could result in the receiver being moved before the deadline next week.

"“I’m told general manager Jason Licht is receiving a ton of calls from several teams with interest in Vincent Jackson mainly because of his talents and because he’s been in a couple different systems.”"

This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Jackson trade rumors and until the deadline passes, it’s not something that is going to go away. Lovie Smith and the Buccaneers have said they’re not shopping anyone but that doesn’t mean people aren’t calling.

Jackson likely won’t net the Bucs much in a trade, which is probably going to bring about an anticlimactic conclusion to this whole matter. Still, there’s a chance he can get dealt and the Bucs getting phone calls means deals might be better than we all think.
