That doesn’t bother Vincent Jackson who says he wants to stay in Tampa Bay and help the team win.

Around the NFL’s Marc Sessler’s wrote that Jackson is still optimistic even though the Bucs haven’t made the playoffs in five years.

Jackson shed a little more light on the topic per the Tampa Bay Times:

"“In this business, those kind of things get talked about quite often. Each and every year, there’s going to be guys moved around to different teams,” Jackson said. “I’m not surprised by it. Obviously I appreciate teams’ interest, but I’m happy here in Tampa. I’ve heard nothing here that would suggest I’m going anywhere. I’m going to let that pass on and keep doing my job.”"

The Bucs have received numerous calls for the services of their talented wide receiver.

While the 10-year veteran Jackson isn’t among the league leaders in catches (25) or touchdowns (2) he still leads the Buccaneers in both categories. He is averaging 13.76 yards per catch has recorded five 1,000 yard seasons in the last six campaigns. Number 83 has been targeted 60 times this season and has only dropped the ball thrice according to SportingCharts.com.

In an article wrtten by Andrew Aastleford of Fox Sports Florida, Lovie Smith said the Bucs aren’t exactly shopping talent.

“We like our football team that we’re going with, that we have here right now,” Smith said then. “We’re not trying to shop any of our players.”

Tampa Bay will have a decision to make on Jackson. He is making $10 million this year and still has two more seasons left on his original five-year, $55.56 million deal he signed after leaving the San Diego Chargers.

Tampa Bay hosts the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
