SMU has a coaching vacancy and one report has the university looking at former Texas head coach and current ESPN analyst Mack Brown, but the SMU athletic director tweets there has been zero contact between the two parties

A report from Bill Nichol of the Dallas Morning News on Thursday said SMU floated $4 million a year to former Texas head coach Mack Brown.

However, a person with direct knowledge of that, SMU athletic director Dave Hart, refuted the report from Nichol and took to twitter on Friday to publicly deny any contact between the university and the current ESPN analyst who said in late September that he would not discuss any potential job offers until December.

SMU is the only winless team in the FBS and one report pegs a former high school coaching legend in the state of Texas and current Clemson offensive coordinator, Chad Morris, as the pick to end up with the job at SMU.

Tom Mason has been serving as the interim coach since June Jones resigned after two games.
