Nebraska Cornhuskers’ running back Ameer Abdullah is squarely in the mix to win
‘s most prestigious award, the Heisman Trophy.
Ameer Abdullah has had an incredible season. He entered Saturday afternoon’s game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights having rushed for 1,024 yards and 14 touchdowns on just 161 carries to go with 11 catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns.
He may be having his best game of the season. With the game tied at 7, Ameer Abdullah rushed for a 53-yard touchdown. Then, on the very next possession, he went 48 yards for a score.
He now has 10 carries for 134 yards with two touchdowns and his Cornhuskers have a 21-7 lead.
