The South Carolina Gamecocks entered the 2014
with huge expectations but have fallen flat on their faces. They are just 4-3 and another SEC loss would basically take them out of the race in the East with the
sitting with just one conference loss (although the Gamecocks do have the tie-break by way of defeating the Bulldogs earlier this season).
That’s why an upset of the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night could do wonders for Steve Spurrier’s squad. The Gamecocks have gotten off to a great start. They took the opening kick-off and drove 75 yards on seven plays. The drive was capped by a 32-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Thompson to Shaq Roland, putting South Carolina up 7-0. Roland was open but then did a great job of keeping his feet to get in for the touchdown.
