Throughout the course of the past few weeks, we’ve begun to see the emergence of LSU freshman phenom Leonard Fournette at running back. One of the most highly touted recruits in quite some time is coming into his own, and he got another chance to show everyone what he could do on Saturday night against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Well he was showing out once again, but on one play, he was lucky he didn’t get his head taken off. No, literally.

Watch in the video below as Fournette literally has his facemask ripped off of his helmet by the Ole Miss defender.

Just when you thought that you’ve maybe seen the worst facemask at one time in your life while watching the glorious sport of football, something like this occurs.

Luckily, Fournette did not suffer a severe neck injury on the play, which could very well have happened.

LSU and Fournette were able to knock off the Rebels at home in Death Valley in one of the more thrilling games of the entire weekend.
