The Philadelphia 76ers have set a goal to have Michael Carter-Williams return to action by November 6th.

Michael Carter-Williams has been sidelined for the entire preseason after undergoing shoulder surgery during the offseason. The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that they are targeting a November 6th return for the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year. Carter-Williams put up monster numbers on a incredibly bad 76ers team last season and the 76ers are expected to be even worse this season.

The 76ers are in no rush to bring back Williams in large part because they are aware of how bad they are going to be this season. The 76ers are going to undergo another ‘rebuilding season’ and they are going to hope that they actually finish first in the draft lottery this season.

The Cavaliers won the draft lottery last season in dramatic fashion and most people believed that it was rigged. It’s not the first time that a skeptical thing happened in the draft lottery. The Nets finished the 2008 season with by far the worst record in the league at 12-70 and finished the lottery in 3rd place.

The 76ers are excited that their best player Michael Carter-Williams is close to returning. For Carter-Williams, the main goal is staying healthy and improving on his impressive rookie season. Carter-Williams is the future of the 76ers organization.
