Things have not gone well for head coach Brady Hoke and the Michigan Wolverines, a proud

college football

power.

After firing Rich Rodriguez, Michigan looked for a coach with Michigan ties to help bring that back power. Their search led them to then San Diego State Aztecs’ head coach Brady Hoke.

After an 11-2 season a Sugar Bowl victory in his first season in Ann Arbor, it has been all downhill for Brady Hoke and the Michigan program. In his second year, Michigan fell to 8-5. Last year, they went 7-6. In 2014, they have started 3-4.

During that same time frame, the rival Michigan State Spartans have seen great success. Michigan State is is 70-30 in eight years. Over the last four years, Michigan State has gone 11-2, 11-3, 7-6 and 13-1. They won the Big Ten Championship and the Rose Bowl last season and have started out 6-1 this season. They are currently ranked eighth while Michigan is nowhere near the top-25.

That’s why Michigan State fans are urging Michigan to keep Brady Hoke for the foreseeable future. In fact, they are flying a banner to show their support for Brady Hoke.

That’s pretty good and part of what makes college football so great.

It’s no coincidence Michigan State has risen as Michigan has fallen. With the traditional state power down, Michigan State has taken advantage.

This isn’t the first time the Spartans have gotten to the Wolverines this week. They painted the block M on Michigan’s campus green and added S and U to the end of it.

The Spartans and Wolverines will get underway from Spartan Stadium in East Lansing at 3:30 pm EST.
