The 16th ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers came into today’s
game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as major favorites, and they have lived up to that billing. Nebraska’s offense has been playing at an extremely high level, and their defense has been extremely stiff as well.
Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. has been having a decent afternoon as well, and extend the Nebraska lead over Rutgers to 28-7 with a nice eight-yard touchdown pass to Sam Cotton. This game wasn’t a very tough test for Nebraska, but they are proving that they can dominate lesser competition.
Nebraska is well on their way to a 7-1 record on the season, while Rutgers will be dropping to 5-3 if things stand. It’s not too surprising to see this game going the way it has, but it’s a major disappointment for a Scarlet Knights team that was hoping to make a point. Nebraska continues to make a case as the Big Ten’s second-best team (behind the Michigan State Spartans) and one of the better teams in the country.
