Orlando Magic Picking Up Many, Many Contract Options

The Orlando Magic on Sunday will pick up the options on the rookie contracts of four players, including last year’s Rookie of the Year runner-up, Victor Oladipo.
According to a report, the Orlando Magic will exercise their 2015-16 contract options on four players still under their rookie contracts.

Evan Fournier, Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson will be entering their fourth seasons in 2015-16, while Victor Oladipo’s option is for his third year.

Fournier, who was acquired from the
on draft night along with second-round pick Roy Devyn Marble in exchange for Arron Afflalo, will make $2,288,204 in 2015-16. The French shooting guard was the 20th overall pick by the Nuggets in 2012 and will have a fifth-year qualifying offer of $3,278,997 for 2016-17.
Harkless, taken 15th overall in 2012 by the Magic out of St. John’s, had his $2,8945,059 option picked up.
Nicholson, chosen 19th overall by Orlando in 2012 from St. Bonaventure, was renewed for 2015-16 for $2,380,594.
Oladipo, the No. 2 overall pick from Indiana in 2013, had a $5,192,520 option for the 2015-16 season.
Fournier averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.8 minutes per game for Denver last season, playing in 76 games and starting four while shooting .419/.376/.756.
Harkless, a 6-foot-8 small forward, played in 80 games for Orlando last season, making 41 starts, and averaged 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.2 steals and one assist in 24.4 minutes. He shot .464/.383/.594.
Nicholson, a 6-foot-9 power forward, averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per night last season, making 76 appearances and five starts. He shot .429/.315/.825.
Oladipo finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting in 2013-14 after averaging 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals in 31.1 minutes per game. He shot .419/.327/.780 in 80 games, starting 44 of them.
