The Dallas Cowboys are off to a hot 6-1 start this season, and that feat has been made more impressive given how many injuries they’ve endured. One of those injuries was to right tackle Doug Free, who suffered a small fracture in his right foot which caused him to miss the Week 7 match up against the New York Giants and will keep him out of the Week 8 match up against the Washington Redskins.
The Cowboys offensive line has been one of the biggest strengths for the Cowboys, and Free’s replacement, Jeremy Parnell, played well against the Giants.
Free could be set to return in Week 9 though, when the Cowboys take on the Arizona Cardinals who come into the weekend with just one loss as well. It is a bit surprising given the original three-to-four week time table.
“We’ll see how he is next week when we start off on Wednesday and we’ll go from there,’’ Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Initially it was a three or four week type thing.
“He traditionally heals fast. He’s a tough guy and we feel like he’s coming back relatively well.’’
