The Dallas Cowboys are off to a hot 6-1 start, and the bandwagon is filling up. That wasn’t the case earlier this year when Cowboys fans were outnumbered in their own stadium against the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans.
Cowboys players, like quarterback Tony Romo, were critical of the Cowboys fans, but the team saw a different crowd against the New York Giants in Week 7. That Cowboys crowd even drew comparisons to the Seattle Seahawks’ 12th man.
The Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football, and the Cowboys are hoping the crowd remains just as loud and raucous this week.
“Oh, it’s going to be loud,” Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “It better be loud. They better be loud, like really loud. It’s going to be fun.
“It’s the only game shown on TV. It gets no better than that.”
Given the Cowboys and Redskins rivalry, they don’t need a lot of motivation to get loud.
“I think anybody who comes within each of those organizations understands, it’s just really hard to explain,” Cowboiys tight end Jason Witten said. “But there’s the passion that I think you feel from the fans and both the organizations, the owners and then of course just the game, it just seems like the atmosphere and the tempo is just at a higher level.”
