For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the NFL trade rumors are beginning to heat up and surround running back Doug Martin.
According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Buccaneers have been receiving calls about the running back, who was a first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Martin is set to make $1.315 million in 2015.
One team who would make sense for Martin is the New England Patriots, who recently placed Stevan Ridley on the injured reserve list, as noted by Pro Football Talk.
Without Martin, the Buccaneers would return to giving Bobby Rainey his fair share of the workload. Rookie running back Charles Sims is also close to a return, so we the Buccaneers would be able to afford losing Martin if the compensation makes it worth their while.
The NFL trade rumors will continue to pile on as the trade deadline approaches, so it will be interesting to see how things continue to develop surrounding Martin.
