The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 but they’re still looking at ways to improve thier roster in hopes of making it all the way to the Super Bowl in Arizona.
When a team starts the season 5-1, you don’ typically peg them as a team that needs improving. Nevertheless, the Philadelphia Eagles are in that boat as they are one of the best teams in the NFL who still feel they’re incomplete.

What the Eagles want to improve is a defensive unit that at times this season has been blown up. After all, they nearly lost a huge lead against the St. Louis Rams at home, so there is clear need for improvement there.
According to Mike Florio from ProFootballTalk.com, the Eagles are looking to upgrade specifically at strong safety, which could lead to a trade before the deadline passes on Tuesday.
"The Eagles are happy with free safety Malcolm Jenkins, but they’d like to upgrade at the strong safety position, where Nate Allen (pictured) is currently the starter."
The Eagles could be looking at acquiring someone like Michael Griffin or Dashon Goldson, both of whom have been made available by their respective teams.
It’s not a position that the Eagles have to fill before the deadline though, but if they can get someone of high caliber a the right price, then that’s something they won’t want to pass up. It’s not a certainty that a deal will be made, but the Eagles are clearly in the market if the price is right.
