Lane Kiffin survived his return to Knoxville on Saturday, as Alabama put up 26 straight points in the first 18 minutes en route to a 34-20 victory.

Tennessee fans were seeing red before Saturday night’s game between the Volunteers and Alabama kicked off and it’s not just because the Crimson Tide were in town.

No, the game also marked the return to Knoxville, Tenn., of Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin for the first time since he bolted the school after just one season to take the head coaching gig at

USC

in January 2010. (This information provided in case you were a) out of the country for the last month or so or b) are not a fan of college football.)

So while Vols fans dreamed of crushing the Tide and getting their revenge against Kiffin, things didn’t turn out that way.

In fact, at least one fan was pretty much done with Tennessee after Blake Sims scored on a 28-yard run for Alabama just three minutes into the second quarter to put the Tide up 26-0.

She was either angry with the performance of Tennessee or she was warning fellow fans about flying coffee additives (she could be saying “duck the cream” … couldn’t she?).

Tennessee did get back to within 10 points, 27-17, in the third quarter, but Derrick Henry scored a back-breaking touchdown with 13 seconds left in the third to put the Tide (7-1) up 34-17 over the Vols (3-5).

Adding insult to injury is the performance of Kiffin’s offense, which rolled up 469 yards as receiver Amari Cooper set a school record for Alabama with 224 receiving yards.
