Texans fans must have added running back Arian Foster in their Sunday morning prayers, as he accounted for three touchdowns as Houston snapped a three-game losing streak with a 30-16 win at the Tennessee Titans at LP Field.

Foster rushed 20 times for 151 yards and also caught four passes for 22 yards, scoring on runs of 34 and 1 yards, while also reeling in a 5-yard touchdown catch from Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was sacked five times and barely completed half of his 34 attempts.

Houston (4-3 overall) harried Tennessee quarterback Zack Mettenberger, who made his first NFL start. Mettenberger was sacked twice by J.J. Watt and committed a pair of turnovers. He was able to complete his first professional touchdown when he found Delanie Walker for a 6-yard score with 2:12 left in the third quarter and added a 12-yard scoring toss to Justin Hunter with 56 seconds left.

Sunday’s loss was the fifth in the last six games for the Titans, whose offensive struggles continued. Tennessee managed just 326 total yards, including a mere 36 on the ground on 13 rather forgetful carries.

The Texans had a stretch in which they scored on five of six possessions between the second and fourth quarters. Randy Bullock — who had earlier kicked a 30-yard field goal — connected on field goals of 29 and 49 yards, which were sandwiched between Foster’s touchdowns.

Houston also got good news in the return of defensive end Jadaveon Clowney, as the first overall pick of last May’s draft made his first appearance since a knee injury sustained in the Texans’ week one win over the Redskins.
