The Toronto Blue Jays missed the postseason this year and they are looking to make moves this offseason to make sure they’re winners in 2015.

When the Toronto Blue Jays pillaged the Miami Marlins a few years ago, it was looking like the team was putting together a roster that would return the team to the postseason. That never happened though, and now the Blue Jays are looking to make a move to make the team exciting again.

According to Nick Cafardo from the Boston Globe, the Blue Jays will make starting pitcher Mark Buehrle available on the trade block and could move him this offseason. Cafardo points out that teams are more likely to trade for Buehrle than R.A. Dickey, despite the $19 million he’s still owed.

"Buehrle will be made available in a trade, though his $19 million contract will likely be a deterrent unless the Jays are willing to assume part of it. The Jays need to replenish their player depth and the quick-working Buehrle might be a way to do it. Buehrle seems more tradable than knuckleballer R.A. Dickey."

The Blue Jays are figuring to compete next season in an AL East that may see the Yankees and Red Sox have rough years again. Baltimore is a favorite to win the division again in 2015 with the Tampa Bay Rays unlikely to do anything at all.

It’s not clear where Buehrle would go but the Blue Jays are more than willing to find out.
