The Chicago Bears dropped on the road to the New England Patriots in a week 8 NFL matchup Sunday, but they also lost Lamarr Houston for the year on a less than fortunate injury.
The Chicago Bears got embarrassed on Sunday, and the hits just keep on coming. Today, it was revealed that defensive end, Lamarr Houston has torn his ACL and will be done for the season. The injury was feared on Sunday but was awaiting on MRI prior to being confirmed.

Houston injured his knee on Sunday while celebrating the sack of Jimmy Garoppolo. No, this wasn’t a preseason game, but Tom Brady‘s backup was playing for the New England Patriots after Brady had carved up the Bears defense to the tune of 30-35 for 354 yards and five touchdowns.
Adam Schefter confirmed the news on Lamarr Houstons on Monday afternoon.
Bears DE Lamarr Houston tore his ACL and is out for the year.

A Bears defense that was already struggling and without many playmakers, loses yet another. The fact that the injury took place during a situation where Houston would have been better served walking back to his own huddle, just makes things worse.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen an injury like this during the 2014 NFL season. The Detroit Lions Stephen Tulloch tore his ACL earlier this season while celebrating a sack as well.
For Houston, the Bears were in the process of getting dumped by a score of 51-23, and New England had already called off the dogs. The Patriots were without their own defensive pass rusher, Chandler Jones, as he is dealing with an injury of his own. The combination of rookies Zach Moore and Dominique Easley dumped Jay Cutler plenty, all without tearing any ligaments.
Mark Trestman and the Chicago Bears are in a world of hurt. Now sitting at 3-5 with no defense, and a failing offense, they appear to be taking on water fast. With a game against the Packers looming following their bye, Chicago may be eliminated from playoff contention very early on.
