Geno Smith says he’s “a little surprised” that the New York Jets are moving forward with Michael Vick at quarterback.
After New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith threw three first quarter interceptions and was replaced mid-game by Michael Vick Sunday versus the Buffalo Bills, many expected the Jets to make Vick the starter going forward.

Still, after the Jets announced that decision on Monday, Smith admitted that he was surprised by the move.
How Smith didn’t see this move coming is a tad strange.
Yes, he’s been on the hot seat for weeks and has kept the job until now. But how he could expect to start after some of the worst quarterbacking we’ve seen in some time on Sunday is mind-boggling.
With their loss to the Bills Sunday, the Jets are now 1-7 and Geno is certainly partly to blame. Prior to his benching, Smith had thrown for 1,370 yards, seven touchdowns, 10 interceptions and had fumbled six times this season.
At this point, Geno’s future as a starting quarterback on this team is in jeopardy. No one should be surprised if the Jets take a quarterback in the 2015 NFL Draft.
The Jets drafted Smith in the second round of the 2013 draft out of West Virginia. Smith has thrown 14 touchdowns and 20 interceptions for his career.
