Mike Glennon Remains Tampa Bay Buccaneers Starting Quarterback
Lovie Smith says Mike Glennon is his quarterback as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will stick with the second-year quarterback under center
If there has been one constant with the head coaching tenure of Lovie Smith it has been a steady stream of questions about his starting quarterback and that continued on Monday with the head coach of the Buccaneers fielding questions about whether Mike Glennon will remain the starter with Josh McCown recovered from his thumb injury.

Glennon has been the starter for the last four games and Smith announced he will remain the starter with McCown serving as his backup when he was asked about the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
"“If we were going to make a change, I wouldn’t talk about it an awful lot, but the plan isn’t for that,” Lovie said, via JoeBucsFan.com. “I thought Mike did some good things yesterday. You’d always like to have a couple of plays back, but you know, the first thing I thought about as far as improving our ball club wasn’t, ‘We gotta make a change at the quarterback position.’”"
The Buccaneers have lost three games in a row and are 1-4 in Glennon’s four starts and are 1-6 overall so it makes sense to ride Glennon for the remainder of the season and determine if he can be the starting quarterback next season and beyond or if the team needs to invest a high first round pick in a quarterback like Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Glennon has 1,157 passing yards, eight touchdowns, four interceptions and is completing 58.8 percent of his passes this season.
