Freshman OT Cam Robinson will miss “a couple of weeks” for third-ranked Alabama, as a high ankle sprain will keep one of the main cogs of the Crimson Tide on the sidelines as they prepare to make a run for a college football playoff spot.

The 6’6, 323-pound skyscraper sustained the injury during the third quarter of last Saturday’s 34-20 victory at Tennessee. Robinson had started each of the first eight games of the regular season for Alabama and had been regarded as one of the top freshman offensive linemen. The Crimson Tide, who will play at 16th-ranked LSU next Saturday night, has averaged 36.5 points and 508.9 yards per game with Robinson as part of the offensive line.

Alabama will use the bye week as time to get their offensive line adjusted. Senior Leon Brown will replace Robinson at left tackle, while redshirt freshman Bradley Bozeman will fill in at right guard to replace Brown.

Robinson came to Alabama with tons of promise, as he was rated as the nation’s top offensive lineman in the class of 2014 according to Rivals.com. Rated as a five-star player, Robinson was rated 17th overall by Rivals after playing his high school ball at West Monroe, La. He was one of six players from Rivals.com’s top 25 class of 2014 that committed to play with the Crimson Tide on National Signing Day.
