A starting quarterback was named for the New York Jets in Week 9 of the NFL schedule, but Chris Johnson had no idea who it would be.
The New York Jets have been nothing short of a colossal mess thus far this season. Despite Rex Ryan knowing that he would likely be coaching for his job in 2014, the team has been anything but functional, and a lot of that has been on Geno Smith and his lack of ability to play quarterback. Chris Johnson, formerly CJ2K, doesn’t even know what’s going on at the position most days.

Johnson was brought in over the offseason as an option next to Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell out of the Jets backfield. He has been so far from productive that the Jets have decided most games to use him so little he forgets what the field looks like.
Yesterday, there was some uncertainty in regards to who would be named the starting quarterback for the Jets week 9 matchup. We now know that Mike Vick will make the start over Smith, but Johnson was pretty perplexed when asked about the situation.
So obviously as outspoken as Chris Johnson is, he rarely hides his emotions. When asked about who the Jets quarterback would be, Johnson made it known that he couldn’t possibly have a clue because he doesn’t remember what it looks like to be in the backfield.
With Michael Vick named as the starter, look for the Jets to have a significantly different look on Sunday. Sure, he is more turnover machine than amazing athlete at this point in his career, but he brings a dynamic Geno simply doesn’t have. Vick is capable of completing passes, and he makes the defense stay home longer.
Also, with the acquisition of Percy Harvin (Vick was noted by Harvin as a mentor), look for that connection to start to trend upwards.
At any rate, the Jets are always good for a laugh and could be facing another disappointing outcome on Sunday.
