Golden State Warriors Owner Blames Autocorrect For Calling Fans ‘Hoodish’
By Josh Hill
Golden State Warriors co-owner Peter Guber is blaming autocorrect for an e-mail he sent in which he used the term ‘hoodish’ to describe a language he wanted to learn.
The NBA is in a very sensitive and rightly cautious attitude these days, following the racist comments made by now former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. The Atlanta Hawks are voluntarily being sold over a similar incident and now Golden State Warriors co-owner Peter Guber is in hot water for an e-mail he sent.

Unlike his NBA owner counterparts though, Guber isn’t owning his e-mail and is instead using an excuse he got from the local high school bus stop — it was that darn autocorrect.
To be fair, the story that Guber is selling sounds like it could very well be legit. Guber has no history of being bigoted or racist and he has no reason to start now. His excuse is that he meant to say he was going to learn Yiddish and the email corrected to hoodish. But the problem with that is, ‘hoodish’ isn’t a word, which means Guber would have had to use it enough for his e-mail to recognize that it’s a word.
That is perhaps the damning evidence against Guber. Then again, learning ‘hoodish’ doesn’t make any sense, so who knows what is going on with this situation.
Here are some other autocorrect fails that Guber probably wishes he had sent instead of his ‘hoodish’ e-mail.
At least these autocorrects are funny, something Guber can’t say about his supposed gaffe.
