With star forward Paul George likely out for the season after suffering a horrific leg injury and guard Lance Stephenson now with the

, it could be a long season for the Indiana Pacers.

That’s why many are calling for the Pacers to trade veterans, namely center Roy Hibbert. Hibbert had a rough year last season, falling apart after the All-Star break and then disappearing completely in the postseason. It seems like both sides are now ready to part ways.

John Zitzler of Basketball Insiders believes Hibbert has been shopped by the Pacers and that he is ready to move on.

"There have been rumblings over the past six months that Hibbert is ready to move on from the Pacers. There have also been rumors that the Pacers have been shopping around their towering center. At one point Hibbert appeared to an integral part Pacers’ future, but now his time with the team may soon be coming to an end. Hibbert has two years remaining on his current contract with the Pacers, with the second year being a player option. If the Pacers feel the chances of Hibbert exercising that player option are slim, they may look to move him this season."

It would be tough to trade Hibbert now – there will definitely be teams interested in acquiring him but his value is so low, it wouldn’t make sense for the Pacers to deal him until he starts looking more like the player who torched the Miami Heat in the 2013 Eastern Conference Finalss.

Roy Hibbert averaged 10.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 43.9% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 77.0% from the free throw line last season. Over his career, he’s put up 11.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 4.7% from the floor, 30.0% from three and 73.7% from the charity stripe.
