Former slugger Jose Canseco, who has become associated with Major League Baseball’s performance enhancing drug epidemic of recent years, was injured in an accidental shooting in Las Vegas.
Here is more from Las Vegas’ CBS News affiliate KLAS.
"A neighbor tells 8 News NOW former baseball star Jose Canseco was hurt in an accidental shooting Tuesday afternoon at his house on the eastside of the Las Vegas valley.Metro Police confirm there was an accidental shooting at the address, but would not confirm the former player was hurt. However, records show Canseco owns the home where the shooting happened."
Canseco made a name for himself as a hitting star in the 1980’s for the Oakland A’s. While details are still minimal, being involved in a shooting won’t help his image and the fact that it was at his house garners tons of questions. Recently, Canseco has become something close to a must follow on Twitter. He often goes on rants–anything from bashing Delta airlines to declaring his desire to be a hitting coach for the A’s. He is known to have a bit of a big mouth. I’m not here to make assumptions or play detective, but that may have had something to do with this altercation.
Any time a shooting is involved, it’s a scary situation. Hopefully he’s okay and makes a full recovery from whatever his injuries are.
