The College Football Playoff committee released its first set of rankings on Tuesday night. Much to the anger of
fans, the Spartans were ranked No. 8. If the season ended today, Michigan State would not have a shot to compete for a national championship.
The Spartans’ lone loss is to the Oregon Ducks on the road. Oregon is ranked fifth.

Despite the anger from the Michigan State fan base, the Spartans have a shot of reaching the College Football Playoff if they run the table to end the season.
