Who are the best starting wide receivers in the NFL?

Last week, we took a stab at ranking each team’s top running back 1-32 (or 32-1), with Dallas Cowboys’ standout DeMarco Murray claiming the top spot.

Will we see a repeat when it comes to the Cowboys in terms of the league’s top wide receiver?

Keep in mind that several star wideouts are not listed as their team’s top performer at this position because this list deals with this season. Injuries have certainly had an impact on this list.

32. Brian Quick, St. Louis Rams

The one-time second-round pick has totaled 25 catches, second on the team, and had totaled 375 yards through the air. He’s caught three touchdown passes this season. He’s one of only two players on the St. Louis roster with at least 20 receptions this season. We are still waiting for Tavon Austin to look like the eighth overall pick in any draft.

31. Allen Robinson, Jacksonville Jaguars

The second-round pick from Penn State has played with two different quarterbacks this season. After not catching a pass in the season opener at Philadelphia, he’s totaled at least four catches in each of the last seven games and the last two weeks has found the end zone. Robinson leads Jacksonville with 39 receptions for 453 yards.

30. Andrew Hawkins, Cleveland Browns

The free-agent pickup from the Cincinnati Bengals (who opted not to match the Browns’ offer) has been target a team-high 61 times in 2014 but has pulled down just 36 receptions (for 470 yards) and just scored his first touchdown this season last Sunday at Denver. Perhaps he becomes a bigger factor when speedster Josh Gordon returns to the team.

29. Eric Decker, New York Jets

Rex Ryan’s passing attack is the worst in the league. Decker ranks second on the team with 31 catches but leads the club with 363 receiving yards and has three of the Jets’ seven touchdown receptions in 2014. Yes, the quarterback situation with the Green and White is a mess. But it’s also worth pointing out that Decker’s three scores are as many as Emmanuel Sanders (Decker’s replacement in Denver) totaled Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers.
