Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed to reporters Tuesday morning that running back Marshawn Lynch would not be traded before the NFL deadline today.
Beast Mode will continue in Seattle, at least for the rest of this season; Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed this morning that running back Marshawn Lynch won’t be traded before the 1 p.m. deadline. The Seahawks were rumored to be shopping Lynch due to issues in the locker room between him and Carroll, although it appears the two have set aside their differences for now.

A beat reporter asked Carroll if the reporter would be able to write that Lynch would still be with the Seahawks after the deadline, and Carroll told the reporter that he would be “safe,” and confirmed that Lynch wasn’t going to be traded. Then, Carroll tried to go for a record of dancing around questions and avoiding straight answers.
“At this point I don’t think it behooves us to try to respond to all of these things,” Carroll said, without clarifying exactly what “things” he was referring to other than friction in the locker room. “Our players have told you how they feel, our coaches have told you how we feel about it and we are in a really good place right now. … there is nothing to that report. I don’t know where that came from.”
One guess as to where the report would come from would be other people in the Seahawks organization willing to answer the reporter’s questions, so maybe Carroll shouldn’t be so annoyed with the line of questioning and should instead reconsider how he’s handling the flow of information from his clubhouse. He seemed to put a start to this today by stating Lynch will remain in Seattle.
