There have already been many disappointments at the midway point of the NFL season, and I think the New Orleans Saints and Adrian Peterson are among the most disappointing.

Week 8 of the NFL season is over, and you know what that means: mid-season hot takes!

This season had a rough start with all the ugly light that was being shined down on the league from the actions of its players, but it looks like that mess is all behind us (hopefully).

There have been tons of great and surprising stories like the unexpected success of the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals. Well, the Cardinals’ success isn’t unexpected, but I guarantee very few people had them penciled in for a two-game lead in their division at the midway point.

However, I’m not here to talk about the good stories that make you feel all bubbly inside.

What I want to talk about are the disappointing stories that the league has given us thus far. Do you remember when you wanted nothing more than an Xbox for Christmas, but your parents ruined your life by getting you a PlayStation instead?

That’s the kind of disappointment I want to talk about.

Like all sports opinions, everything is subjective and there are easily at least 10 disappointing stories from these eight weeks alone. I’ve done my best to narrow all the disappointment into my top (but actually worst) five.
