Louisville tight end Micky Crum apparently missed the memo that warns players about saying things that could inspire a more-talented opponent.
It might not be bulletin-board material, but Louisville Cardinals tight end Micky Crum certainly gave the Florida State Seminoles some message-board fodder to work with.
Crum, a freshman tight end from Columbus, Ohio, hasn’t played in a game this season and is likely going to take a redshirt, so he’s not going to have to back up his brave tweet:
Dude, seriously?

It’s bad enough to call out an undefeated team when you have to actually play. When you’re just going to be standing on the sidelines in uniform being a cheerleader, though? Seriously bad form.
It’s a big game in the ACC, with No. 25 Louisville looming as perhaps the last serious speed bump on the way to the Seminoles going 12-0 for the regular season.
The Cardinals are 6-2 overall and 4-2 in their inaugural trip through the ACC. Florida State is 7-0 and 4-0 in the conference. Both teams are in the ACC’s Atlantic Division (because when one thinks of the Atlantic Coast, Louisville, Ky., is one of the very first places that comes to mind).
Crum was a three-star prospect coming out of Columbus’ Hamilton Township High School. Gerald Christian, a fifth-year senior, is Louisville’s primary receiving threat at tight end with 22 receptions for 256 yards and three touchdowns.
One wonders if he will bear the brunt of Crum’s brave talk come Thursday night when the Cardinals and ‘Noles collide.
