Los Angeles Clippers fans can now use phones to suggest plays

Is this real life? Is this what the NBA is coming to?

I’m kind of hoping this is a joke. Either that, or Steve Ballmer truly has it in for his head coach, and wants to drive him out via war torture.

If I had thousands of passionate fans texting (or calling, even worse) to let me know how to run my team, I might just give up… and Doc Rivers’ line of thought probably isn’t too far off.

Ballmer recently picked up the Clippers in light of the Donald Sterling scandal, dropping a hefty two billion on the franchise in May. He now has more of his personal net worth invested in the team than he does in his former company, Microsoft.

Of course, speaking of Microsoft… will iPhone and Droid users be able to pitch in, too? Because if not, Doc Rivers might not be driven too crazy… by the ten play suggestions he gets a night.

Play on, Microsoft.
