ESPN College Football Challenge Picks For Week 10

facebooktwitterreddit

For those of you that don’t know, ESPN College Football Challenge is the closest you can get to college fantasy football on ESPN.  You get to comprise a roster of two quarterbacks, two running backs, two wide receivers, a team kicker, and a team defense.  The scoring is very similar to NFL scoring.

Week nine went well for me. I had the best week of the year, finishing just shy of 200 points. If I had taken a decent kicking unit, I could  have broke the threshold!

Here are my picks for week 10:

Quarterbacks:

Trevone Boykin, TCU: He had a monster game against Texas Tech. While he likely won’t hit 50 against West Virginia, he is the focal point of this offense. High 30s is a reasonable expectation.

Fredi Knighten, Arkansas State: Knighten racked up 41 against Lafayette last week. This week he gets a rather awful Idaho team. The bonus is that he is not widely owned, so I’m taking the chance on him.

Honorable mention: J.T. Barrett vs. Illinois, Kenny Hill vs. Louisiana-Monroe

Stay away: Marcus Mariota vs, Stanford, Jameis Winston at Louisville

Running Backs:

Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska: I know he is over 60% owned, but I am not going to be the guy that thinks he can do better. Abdullah is consistently scoring 30+ a game. He is about as safe of a bet as you have right now.

Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin: He gets the Rutgers team that Abdullah carved up last week. 30 should be a given for Gordon!

Honorable mention: Jarvion Franklin at Miami(OH), Tevin Coleman at Michigan

Stay away: Byron Marshall vs. Stanford, James Conner vs. Duke

Wide Receivers:

Rashard Higgins, Colorado State: It is to the point that I don’t even care who the Rams are playing anymore. Higgins is a must play every week. Aside from Amari Cooper of Alabama, he is the most sure thing out there.

Sterling Shepard, Oklahoma: Let’s be honest here. The Sooners really don’t have any other good options at WR right now. Blake Bell, yes that Blake Bell, is the second leading receiver on the team. That should tell you something.

Honorable mention: Nelson Spruce vs. Washington, Nelson Agholor at Washington State.

Stay away: Tyler Boyd vs. Duke, Sammie Coates at Mississippi

Kickers:

West Virginia: They are the top scoring kicking unit on the season, and field goals should be in abundance against TCU.

Honorable mention: TCU  at West Virginia, Oregon vs. Stanford

Defense:

Ohio State: They get an improving Illinois team at home, but Minnesota made the Illini look much better than they actually are.

Honorable mention: Georgia vs. Florida, Baylor vs. Kansas

Stay away: Louisville vs. Florida State, Stanford at Oregon
