The Cavs’ opener Thursday will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Just look at how many fans are already outside The Q. That place will be nuts from the time the gates open until well after the contest.
LeBron spoke about the game’s importance to ESPN:
"“For me, I know all of us shouldn’t take this moment for granted,” James said after shootaround Thursday in advance of the Cavs’ home game against the New York Knicks. “This is probably one of the biggest sporting events that is up there ever.”"
The Cavaliers drafted LeBron with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. He spent the first seven years of his NBA career with the Cavs before signing with the Miami Heat in 2010. LeBron signed a two-year contract with Cleveland this offseason.
The Cavs are expected to compete for a championship this season with James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving leading the way.
