LeBron James announced that he is bringing back his chalk toss ritual.
It’s back.
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James announced on Twitter that he will do his famous chalk toss ritual at the team’s season opener against the New York Knicks Thursday.

James held a Twitter vote earlier in the day letting fans decide whether he brought back the chalk toss.
My fans here's your chance to vote and tell me either to do it or not. http://t.co/vWKGk5BXdH #ChalkToss #ChalkedOut

This is completely expected. There was basically no chance that fans would vote against James bringing back the famous ritual. In fact, it’s a little surprising that even five percent appeared to vote against its return. Fans in attendance for James’ (second) debut will be given powder to toss themselves along with James.

Thursday’s game promises to have an incredible atmosphere, which LeBron spoke about to ESPN on Thursday.
"“I have had many thoughts of how it might be,” James said when asked to look ahead to the game. “How loud it may be. How great it is going to be to back on this floor. It’s going to be exciting not only when my name is announced, but the rest of the guys and just our team coming out on the floor and getting ready for another hopefully great year.”"
The chalk toss will only makes James’ return that much cooler.
The Cavaliers drafted LeBron with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2003 NBA Draft. He spent the first seven years of his career with the team before signing with the Miami Heat in 2010. James signed back with the Cavaliers this offseason.
