Cavil came to Oklahoma as an early enrollee in January 2013, but had yet to find the field this season after redshirting in 2013.
He was the No. 32 player in Texas according to ESPN.com coming out of James Madison High School and he chose Oklahoma over Cal, Texas, Baylor, Clemson, Mississippi State and South Carolina.
There’s no word yet on what schools Cavil will be considering for his transfer.
Oklahoma is 5-2 this season and currently ranked a 19th in the polls. They’ve had two under-five point losses to TCU and Kansas State this year as well as big wins against West Virginia and Texas. They will take on the 2-5 Iowa State Cyclones this Saturday on the road in what should be an easy win for the Big 12 conference powerhouse.
We’ll see if anything changes after Cavil leaves the team, but considering he didn’t see the field, it shouldn’t be a big distraction.
