Don’t look now, but the Washington Redskins have won two straight and now get Robert Griffin III back under center. Can the momentum carry over into Minnesota, where the league’s eighth-ranked defense awaits?

With the return of QB Robert Griffin III, the Washington Redskins feel their offense can become the big-play unit coach Jay Gruden envisioned at the start of the year. Winners of two straight, they now must face an underrated Minnesota Vikings defense at TCF Bank Stadium, yet the young Vikes are slowly coming together offensively with rookies Teddy Bridgewater and Jerick McKinnon coming into their own.

Keys to Victory
The Vikings, who are tied for second with 25 sacks, will be more than aggressive when it comes to welcoming back RGIII. DE Everson Griffen is third in the league with eight sacks, making him the primary object for the Redskins’ O-line. Despite starting three different QBs, the Redskins are fifth in passing yardage, yet the Vikings are fourth in defending the pass. The big difference in this game could come down to how RB Alfred Morris is involved; he struggled without Griffin, so the return of RGIII could breath some life back into a mediocre Washington ground attack.

Prediction
Obviously, RGIII will be a key factor, yet don’t fall asleep on Bridgewater, who is improving with each start. However, Bridgewater must get WR Cordarrelle Patterson more involved; the Vikings’ best playmaker has a pedestrian 25-299-1 line thus far, although he comes off a season-best six receptions two weeks ago. As much as the Redskins are concerned about Griffen, they’d better pay attention to where emerging rookie LB Anthony Barr lines up. Barr showed his game-altering skills with a game-winning fumble return for a TD in overtime last week and will be a determining factor as to how this all plays out.
