Patrick Willis A Game-Time Decision vs. Rams
By Evan Massey
San Francisco 49ers‘ linebacker Patrick Willis is a game-time decision for Sunday’s NFL division rivalry against the St. Louis Rams.
The San Francisco 49ers have been having an up-and-down season all year long, and part of that has to do with the health issues that their defense has had. One player who is in doubt for the 49ers’ game against the St. Louis Rams this week is star linebacker Patrick Willis, who has been dealing with an injury to his toe.

Willis made some comments about how he feels and what his chances are to play this week for the 49ers.
“My big toe is my foundation. A kink in that can mess everything else up. I don’t want to do anything crazy, come back too fast and tear up anything else. It’s a game-time decision and we’ll find out Sunday.”
At the age of 29, Willis is in his eighth NFL season and simply hasn’t been able to play up to his standards due to nagging injuries. He has been one of the NFL’s most dominant defensive players for quite a few years now, and despite the injuries has had a major impact and has been the leader of the San Francisco defense. His presence on the field is a major plus for the 49ers, and he has a way of motivating his teammates to play harder.
Hopefully he’s able to make a full recovery and get back to playing the dominant brand of football that has come to be expected from him. Willis is still more than capable of being that leader, and would definitely make a difference on Sunday if he’s able to get out on the field.
More news will likely come out leading up to the game, but a final decision will not be made until gameday more than likely. The 49ers will give him as much time as they can before making up their minds on his status. If it were up to Willis, he would be out on the field with his teammates.
