Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall re-injured his torn Achilles tendon while at home, though he is still expected to return in time for NFL training camp.
Mike Jones at the Washington Post reports that Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall re-injured his torn Achilles tendon at home and has already had it repaired once again. This is his second Achilles injury in as many months. While Hall should still be healthy in time for preseason, this could hamper the aging cornerback next season.

While this doesn’t set Hall too far back in his recovery from the injury — it had only been five weeks since his initial operation — it does add concerns for Washington, who employs a 31-year-old cornerback who’s now ruptured his Achilles heel twice in two months. Speed and cuts are everything for a cornerback and if the team doesn’t find they’re getting as much of that from Hall as they’ve grown accustomed to, they won’t hesitate to give Hall a cut of his own.
For now, Hall can rest and rehabilitate once more in preparation for the season. He’ll need to double down on the process if he’s going to reclaim his spot near the top of the team’s depth chart come August.
