The 15th ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers were met with little resistance by the Purdue Boilermakers in their Big Ten showdown on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately one piece of injury news took a little bit of the shine off of things for Nebraska.

Star running back Ameer Abdullah was forced to exit this game with a knee injury. He was initially listed as questionable but was ultimately unable to return.

Any sustained absence for Abdullah would be a huge blow to the Cornhuskers’ hopes this season. One young fan, seven-year-old Jack Hoffman, summed it up appropriately when asked about Abdullah’s injury in a sideline interview.

Hoffman, of course, is known for that ridiculously awesome touchdown run in a Spring game and the creation of the Team Jack Foundation for pediatric brain cancer research.

Jack Hoffman has already served as inspiration for Cornhuskers’ fans and just people in general nationwide. On Saturday, he gave voice to what every Nebraska fan was thinking about Abdullah’s injury in two simple words.

It sucks.
