Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday was carted off the field with a right leg injury suffered against USC

Record-breaking quarterback Connor Halliday was carted off the field in Washington State’s game against the USC Trojans in the first quarter after being hit by Leonard Williams after completing a pass.

Halliday had an air cast around his leg as he was taken off the field for what could be the final game of his college football career depending on the severity of the injury, and it looked severe enough to end his season and career.

In a classy gesture USC quarterback Cody Kessler and fellow Trojan Hayes Pullard came on the field to support their opponent as medical personnel attended to his injury.

This is not only a huge loss for the Cougars who didn’t have much to root for outside of Halliday, but all of college football as well as the nation’s leading passer has likely thrown his last pass.

Halliday entered today’s action leading the nation — by a wide margin — in passing yards with 3,833, second place is UMass QB Blake Frohnapfel who is at 2,921. Halliday also leads the FBS with 32 touchdown passes.

Earlier this year, Halliday set the FBS record for passing yards in a game with 734 yards in a one-point loss to Cal that also saw him throw six touchdowns for the second time this year.
