The Ohio State Buckeyes had to be disappointed when they found out they were all ranked 16 in the first ever College Football Playoff rankings (Although they shouldn’t be seeing as they lost to the 4-5
35-21 earlier this season).
Still, if the Buckeyes can continue to win and defeat the eighth-ranked Michigan State Spartans on the road next week, they could find themselves right back in the mix. That’s why every game continues to hold hold so much importance, even Saturday night’s match up with the seemingly overmatched Illinois Fighting Illini.
It didn’t take the Buckeyes long to get on the board. The Illini had a nice early drive but Darron Lee picked off Reilly O’Toole and returned it to the 38-yard. Three plays later, Curtis Samuel rushed for a 23-yard touchdown to make it 7-0 Buckeyes.
