Duke quarterback Anthony Boone found wide receiver Jamison Crowder for a 39-yard TD in the first half of their game against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Duke Blue Devils and the Pittsburgh Panthers put up a shootout in another NCAA football Saturday, with each team posting 28 points in the first half alone. The first of those scores was a beauty. Quarterback Anthony Boone took the snap from the Panthers 39-yard line, pulled back and found Jamison Crowder for a pretty touchdown pass to open the scoring.

The Panthers cornerback is left on an island with one-on-one coverage and no safety help, which Crowder happily exploits even as the coverage remains relatively tight until the catch.

The first half proceeded in see-saw fashion with teams trading touchdowns all half. Boone had three first half touchdowns, but his were answered by three from Pittsburgh’s Chad Voytik, who has two touchdown passes and a touchdown run.

The ranked Blue Devils are hoping to escape Heinz Field with a win to further bolster their grasp on the ACC standings. A win would improve the Blue Devils to a 7-1 record while the Panthers are hoping to break .500 and improve to 5-4 on their home field while also damaging a conference foe’s footing atop the ACC.
