In what is always one of the most hyped games of the season and (rightfully so as it often loves up to that hype), Peyton Manning and his Denver Broncos will be in Foxboro to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Over the last two weeks, both teams have looked very good and both Manning and Brady put up huge numbers in the month of October (each threw 15 touchdown passes). The Broncos enter this rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game with a record of 6-1 while the Patriots are 6-2.
The Broncos received both good and bad news prior to their showdown with the Patriots.
Running back Ronnie Hillman, who hurt is shoulder in practice this week, will be playing on Sunday.
“Ronnie Hillman will play,” writes Mike Klis of The Denver Post. “The Broncos running back banged his shoulder during practice Wednesday but the injury isn’t serious and he will be a starter Sunday against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass.”
He is listed as probable.
However, it looks like the Broncos will once again be without Montee Ball.
“We’ll see,” Ball said. “I listen to our trainers. I’ll be back soon, though. I’m feeling a lot better.”
Montee Ball started the year as the Broncos’ top back but injured his groin in a win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 5. However, with his injuries and the play of Ronnie Hillman, it looks like he will be out of a job when he returns.
Ronnie Hillman has 349 yards and two touchdowns on 75 attempts while Montee Ball has 172 yards and a touchdown on 55 carries.
