Durant suffered a foot fracture that will keep him out until December, while Westbrook injured his hand this week.

Russell Westbrook suffered a fracture in the second metacarpal of his right hand and that is expected to keep him out for a minimum of four to six weeks. Oklahoma City is weighing all options and surgery is one of them.

According to a recent report, surgery is a “consideration” for Westbrook.

From Royce Young of ESPN.com:

"According to general manager Sam Presti, Russell Westbrook underwent further evaluation by outside consultants on his fractured right hand Friday and the process will continue Saturday. Westbrook remains without an official timetable as the team weighs the possibility of a procedure to repair his hand.“At this stage, surgery is a consideration for this particular injury,” Presti told ESPN.com. “If there were to be a procedure, we would provide a time frame at that point.”"

For Westbrook’s long-term future, surgery may be the best option.

It will just be a matter of whether the Thunder believe that will be the most reasonable route to take and if Westbrook obliges.
